Emergency Shelter Services

Emergency Shelter Services provides temporary, emergency care of children, in Alfalfa and Woods counties, due to an exceptional incident or traumatic event which prohibits the safe return of a child to his or her own home.  Shelter services are provided by host homes located in the community.  This service is provided through joint funding by the Federal DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) (75%) and the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) (25%).  On site monitoring visits are provided by DHS licensing, OJA Monitoring Unit, DHHS - Services to Children and Families Peer Review, OAYS (Oklahoma Association of Youth Services) Evaluation Team.
